This past weekend (4/25-4/27) the Wayland-Weston team traveled down to Saratoga, NY to race some of the top competition on the East Coast. There were over 1, 500 boats entered to race in the first ever 10 lane course, but W-W stood out on top of the competition. The women’s team raced in nine events over the weekend, all finishing in the top ten. The women’s varsity 8+ finished 3rd on Sunday, just 1.5 seconds behind first place. Along with the women’s varsity 8+, the women’s lightweight 4+ and varsity 4+ brought home bronze medals. See girls and boys articles.
On the mens side, it was the fours that stole the show. With the lightweight 4+ winning the gold medal and the novice 4+ placing third in the event. Again, Wayland-Weston stood amongst the elite at the Saratoga Invitational with all seven men’s boats receiving top 10 finishes. Results can be found on here.
