FAQ Roster
  • Who can row with the recreational program?
    • All residents from the Wayland and Weston community that have passed a swim test.
  • I've never rowed before. Is this a problem?
    • Not at all, there will be programs to fit all experience levels.
  • What programs are available to recreational rowers?
    • The exact programs are still to be determined, but there will be a learn to row program as well as an experience rower's program.
  • How much will it cost?
    • All fees are still to be determined. There are certain number of fixed costs (boats, oars, other equipment, etc.) as well as variable costs (coaching time, gas for boats, etc.) that will need to be payed for.
  • Where do we row?
    • On Lake Cochituate in Wayland. If you'd like some more specifics, here are some directions.
  • Am I responsible for finding an entire boat's worth of people to row with?
    • Not necessarily, but it always helps to have enough people.
  • What times of year is the recreational program active.
    • The adult program will probably be active from spring through fall, while the youth program might only run during the summer months. This is still to be determined.
  • Who is given priority, the high school program or the recreational program?
    • The high school program is given priority over all equipment, practice times and coaching. An exception to this would obviously be private equipment.
