This camp is ideal for 7th – 8th graders who are considering rowing in the fall and high school students that may or may not already know how to row; it will give you a sense of what crew is like. It is also useful for those who know they will be signing up in the fall but might miss the preseason. We also welcome all middle school students who are interested in rowing.

This program is not just for beginners. Each session, rowers of like ability will be grouped together. So it is also appropriate for experienced rowers who are not interested in racing over the summer, and for beginners who sign up for multiple sessions.

Spring 2019 (tentative info)

Join us this in the spring of 2019 for the WWRA middle school rowing program!

(A registration link will be updated.)

Middle school rowing is open to new and continuing rowers.  The spring program features  six Saturday sessions, from late April through early June. Towards the end of the season we will have a fun scrimmage on Lake Cochituate for those who would like to try a race. In addition, a few very experienced scullers will be invited to an away race at the end of the season. For those who would like a more low-key introduction to the sport, you can choose to come to the Saturday practices only. Participants do not need to be Wayland or Weston residents.

We’ll have huge fun. Kids will learn a new skill, get a workout, and make friends. (And rowing friendships have been known to be life-long.)
