All participants in rowing activities under the auspices of Wayland-Weston
Rowing Association, Inc., are required to read and agree to abide by the
following:
The United States rowing community is recognized for its stewardship of our
vital natural resources, and for its responsible conduct in the use of
public and private facilities. In keeping with this heritage,
Wayland-Weston Rowing Association, Inc., requires all rowing participants to
adhere to the following principles and practices:
- We are ambassadors for the sport of rowing.
- At all public and private areas, including rivers, lakes, federal,
state, town and school department property, and adjacent neighborhoods, we
conduct ourselves as guests.
- Access to these areas is a privilege that must not be abused or taken
for granted.
- In general, we endeavor to leave the areas and facilities we use in as
good or better condition than we find them.
- We abide by federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- We do not litter, on land or on water.
- When traveling on public ways, we proceed with courtesy and caution, and
observe posted speed limits.
- We do not park on private property unless invited.
- After each use, we check to see that all equipment is properly stowed
and secured, collect our personal belongings, and depart promptly.
