How did you get involved in crew?396102_347879471954745_1063204308_n
My cousins both rowed collegiately at Cornell and Cal. One of them raced at the Head of the Charles and my sisters were drawn to try out the sport after seeing it there. My sisters, Lee and Christine, went onto row at CRI and then Yale. I decided to give it a shot since my family had a lot of success with it.
What’s your favorite crew memory?
I had some great high school races but winning NCAA in 2012 was one of the best. It was the culmination of 9 years of rowing and it was a great note to leave on. My race in the 4+ was also the most daring and challenging race of my career and I was able to do it with 4 of my closest friends.

What hasn’t crew done for me? I honestly do not know who I would be without it or where I would have gone to college without it. All of the life lessons that shaped me have been through my experiences both succeeding and failing in rowing and from the coaches and friends I had along the way.
